Let it go

You gotta give a little to get a lot...

The key is to get to know people and trust them to be who they are. Instead, we trust people to be who we want them to be - and when they’re not, we cry.
— David Duchovny

Nobody but you is responsible for your life. It doesn’t matter what your mama did; it doesn’t matter what your daddy didn’t do. You are responsible for your life. … You are responsible for the energy that you create for yourself, and you’re responsible for the energy that you bring to others. Oprah Winfrey, The Final Show

We must be willing to risk again and love again. Can you think of anything more important? What do we work for? What do we strive for? What do we suffer for? What do we hope for? It’s love. It’s life. To miss it will be your greatest loss. Leo Buscaglia (Choose Life)

A little bit stronger

Woke up late today and I still feel the sting of the pain
But I brushed my teeth anyway
I got dressed through the mess and put a smile on my face
I got a little bit stronger

Riding in the car to work and I'm trying to ignore the hurt
So I turned on the radio, stupid song made me think of you
I listened to it for minute but I changed it
I'm getting a little bit stronger, just a little bit stronger

And I'm done hoping that we could work it out
I'm done with how it feels, spinning my wheels
Letting you drag my heart around
And, oh, I'm done thinking that you could ever change

I know my heart will never be the same
But I'm telling myself I'll be okay
Even on my weakest days
I get a little bit stronger

Doesn't happen overnight but you turn around
And a month's gone by and you realize you haven't cried
I'm not giving you a hour or a second or another minute longer
I'm busy getting stronger

Why do some of us like douche bags? This baffles me... Why would we want to be with someone who does not treat us right? It doesn't make sense. Maybe because we like the tease of playing games with each other. But once the feelings are there for the person, you put yourself at risk of getting hurt. Do we want another broken heart? I sure as hell don't like feeling that way. Maybe we think we can change the person into a "nice guy." Well you can't. Do we like the drama of it all? Do we want to spice up our boring lives? Because nice guys are there.... but we just don't like them. The excitement of "nice guys" isn't there like it is for the assholes. Nice guys are going to keep being nice, and doing nice things.... but as for douche bags-- you can't predict the next thing that they're going to do. Maybe that's why I like them. I don't want a boring life, but I do want someone that wants me, cares about me, loves me for me. As for now, I will take risks because I'm tired of the safe route.
