Today I had class this morning then hung out all day til it was time to see Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty Theatre in Leicester Square ("Lesster Square") ! So excited! This is my first play that was not planned by the study abroad program that I ACTUALLY want to see ! :) It was sooooo impressive!! My favorite part was the fog boat scene - it looked like water moving while they were in the boat. It was so real looking.
Then we went right next door to Sport's Bar Cafe which is where we were going to meet everyone after the play. Apparently this place is more of an American bar. Which was a nice taste of home! There were 1/2 Americans and 1/2 Brazilians because the soccer game was on. Since it was the night before my birthday I got lots of unnecessary free drinks. I had so much fun dancing with everyone ! And my new heels didn't bother me that much! Yay! I love comfy heels! Around 1:30 am I couldn't find anyone so I got a cab back to my flat. I was so scared because right when we got to London a police officer came and talked to our group about pic-pocketing, thieves, credit card machines that take your card, and fake cab companies. So I got into a cab and freaked out so I got out! haha I'm ridiculous. I didn't know how to tell if they were a real company! So I flagged down another cab and got in. I ask him what company he was with and just went with it-- the whole cab ride I was holding my "rape siren" that I won from the police officer speaker. If you pull it it makes this insanely loud noise to ward away the person. Anyways, I was just paranoid... but I got to my flat safely ... 15 pounds later.
Apparently, 3 of the girls were dancing still when I left the bar - and I didn't find this out until Wednesday morning. I walked around the bar 3 times! ughh. Oh well. It was a great night!!!
